Diesel Sound Deadening?

How effective if the inner bonnet fabric do you think? As anyone tried a decibel meter on it, I know the engine cover one has been tested...

Removed mine ready to fit mirrors again, but may deaden the inside of the mirror sections on the CDTI, just not sure if pointless as it will be only the inner skin behind the mirrors and not elsewhere, what do you think?

Basically deaden behind the mirrors here, like on my 2.2...
