Default Are speedo clocks a straight swap ?

My mate has a set of VXR clocks he's getting rid of and i was wondering if they would go into my preface 2.2 signum? Or is it a big job ?

    Thanks,

Removing the clocks isn't there's a good how2 on here somewhere.

Are speedos the same on both cars?? Otherwise they'll be out of sync won't they?

tech 2 for coding, plus you'll need to alter the mileage via the eeprom chip.

Edit: above is facelift to facelift, no idea about pre facelift etc.

Eh can you not just swap the actualy clock face/backing (bit with all of the numbers on it) between the two binicles? On another note the preface dashes are different as the facelift ones don't have the window in the rev counter and subsequently have additonal symbols and lights around the clocks because of this - oil level light, coolant level warning, door ajar warning etc.

Mine doesnt have a window in the rev counter either, mine is in the speedo the same as his VXR ones, they look the same size and shape etc but its just finding out if anyone knows if theyd work,

I thought you couldn't change the mileage on them.

The only way you can change the mileage on them as far as I know is to put them back into delivery mode and completely re-set them up from scratch. The guy at Vauxhall who did mine had to then go through and program in all the relevant info in, which other modules were installed that it communicated with (TPMS, Parking sensors etc) and I think he programmed in the chassis number of the car to it too from memory.

In delivery mode you can then set the mileage to match what's held on the ECU.

Pecky http://www.diagnostics.org.uk/2010/0...ge-correction/ and Stampede are the only people I know who can reset mileage. Best bet is to contact one of them.
