    Default Exhaust centre section

    Hi all,

This isnt so much as troubleshooting but more curiosity.

I have a Preface 1.8 Elegance and I have to replace the centre and rear silencer.

My question - would the 2.0 D or the 2.2 centre fit or is this a case of 1.8 only??

Had a look - as best I can - and they look similar in shape but didnt want to buy to try and find out something has been shaped differently!!

    Cheers all

    Tony

I think the 2.0 and 2.2 will have a bigger exhaust diameter to your 1.8 not to sure on this, someone will be along soon with the correct answer

Yo Tinks.. I will be taking the centre and rear boxes of my wifes 1.8 soon (next two weeks, just need to book it in) to replace it with something else.. I am sure we can sort something out and you can use that on your car..

Cheers for that Jamie - the diameter wouldn't be an issue, can over come that it was just the shape / bends I was concerned about.

Hi Nige, hope you and the family are all good. Do I assume it is the standard pipework with the hidden tailpipe??

    Cheers

Not sure if this will help answer your question but I recently fitted a VXR system onto my 1.9, the shape of the exhaust was identical, the differences were bore size, missing a hanger just behind the middle box, and about 1.5 inches longer where it joins the cat. I would say it would go on without to much of a problem tbh!
