Default Odd Clutch feeling (1.9cdti 150)

Well not sure if i am paranoid about my car as everything else has gone wrong with it or i actually have an issue with the clutch.

It had a new clutch/DMF etc prior to me purchasing the car and has done about 30k since this was fitted.

The clutch pedal feels extremely light and the biting point feels odd to me as in ive got to have a very light foot with it. I dont know if it is just me, Though i feel it has changed.

In first gear setting off etc, it just feels unusual i feel i would be able to slip the clutch much easier than expected as the biting point is so light.

When changing gear when moving, i have also noticed the gear change if im not careful light footed can be quite a jerky change.

I noticed a few times also after i did say 30+ miles on a motorway run, the clutch would feel tight then go back to the above, but now this doesn't happen.

Not sure how i can describe it any better than above.

I did the check with handbrake on and put in 3rd, clutch up and it instantly just stalled.

I would presume the fluid has been changed when they did the Clutch/DMF though im thinking this is the next step. Is there a How to for doing this on this engine?

Edit: Found the How 2 for bleeding/flushing.

Funny you should say all this. I wasn't sure whether i was going mad. I've started noticing my clutch pedal being heavy when i have done a motorway run and pull up to the roundabout at the end of the sliproad......

I had exactly that for some time, But now it is gone and the clutch has just gone so light.

The fluid for the clutch is same as the fluid for the brake to the best of my knowledge. You probably will have also noticed a squeeky sound when you shift from gear 4 to 3 or 5 to 4 and the clutch does not get to biting point on time. I have had this since DMF and clutch kit was changed in 2011. If you find a solution, please share.

Ive got no squeek's what so ever, Gear change's are smooth, No Rattles either from the clutch/DMF.

More expense then, Looks like im off for some more bits from halfroads (eezibleed), Really do hope a fluid change can fix it though. If not il be ready for binning it with the hassle ive had.

be careful with some of the easibleed kits as they can blow the seals in the servo if you put too much pressure on them

Yeah i have had a read of the How 2 and it says to watch that, I will just find a spare type some where that will be in all my junk. Do you think the clutch feeling could possibly be due to needing a brake fluid change?

break fluid airates the older it gets in easy terms it takes in air molecules hence why it should be changed but vauxhall say to preserve the life of your clutch dmf and breaks to do a fluid change every 2 years i do mine every year as its only 39.99 on top of the full service anyway
