Auto Gearbox Help!! P0718 Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit Intermittent

Hiya guys, anybody know if replacing the sensor will help or is the gearbox broken?

P0718 Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit Intermittent, when driving I often get the car and spanner light followed by limp mode sometimes, this often happens from a gear change that didnt quite feel normal only when car is cold? does this sound like sensor or Gearbox?

Replace sensor as it is the cheaper option.

hi there. im having the exact same problem with the auto box on my 2.2dti. happens all the time. getting the ATF changed at the wekend to see if that helps. if not looks like its a trip to the dealers to get it plugged in for fault code reading.

Had that on my auto vectra,replace both sensors and problem gone.

what are the sensors and how much are they ?

Dont remember the price but they are on the gearbox,one near selector linkage and the other one towards the bulkhead.just held in place with a small bolt and wires just plug in.
