Default No boost until 3k RPM

    Afternoon everyone.

Got another problem with the car, it makes no boost until 3000rpm. Had it on diagnostics and the boost command is not following the boost pressure very closely. Obviously a boost issue. I've tested the vac pump, solenoid (new but checked anyway), pipes were checked and turbo actuator checked. They were all fine. At a loss now as to what could cause it!

    Anybody got any ideas?

    Cheers

Vac pipes have all been replaced recently, checked again and they're all fine. Boost sensor I've not cleaned in a while but will go do that now, boost pipes are all fine!

Just done the boost sensor, was really bad but cleaned it up so it's spotless - no change.

Im presuming its a cdti? I had a similar problem last week, very sluggish until reaching higher revs. Its definitely worth taking off the throttle body and thoroughly cleaning. more so, you should pay particular attention to the area the throttle body bolts to (see attached image) this area is where the egr reintroduces waste gasses to the intake system, where they mix with oil which has found its way from the intercooler and form a really nasty carbon snot. Scrape it out with a screw driver taking care not to let much drop into the manifold itself, and use a good quality egr and inlet cleaner to clean thoroughly.
at the same time get someone to rev up to around 2000rpm and spray a good quarter of a tin into the manifold to clean excess carbon and oil from it.

In regards to the egr, you can partially blank it without the EML being provoked to give greater performance at low revs, see link.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EGR-BLANKI...#ht_633wt_1141

These gave great results for me, as the egr is the source of most inlet problems. These replace your original gaskets (dont forget to buy the bottom one that goes on the pipe from the exhaust too!!) weatheror not you decide to fit these, remove the egr and clean it thoroughly, paying close attention to the valve seal itself and scraping off excess carbon around the seat and also plenty of egr cleaner sprayed in there too.

May also be worth checking the solenoid part of the egr for corosion, theres a how to in the forum. hope this solves it!

I had this with mine, turned out to be the boost sensor, it was really coked up so cleaned it but made no difference so bought a second hand one off fleabay and that fixed it. So swamped the old one in carb cleaner and left it a few days and tried it again this brought it back to life.
It can also be caused by a stuck egr so its worth pulling that off and giving it a good clean and make sure the valve seats properly.

Update, intake temperature showing as 50 degrees all the time. Maybe flicking down to 49 sometimes but that's it. @megsdad went above and beyond the call and nipped over so I could swap some parts over - tried a boost sensor and MAF, no changes.

Possible I guess but it still takes off after 3k. All bar injector 3 yes, which was replaced. Can see in the **com logs it's limiting the fuel right down because of the supposed inlet temperature.

Oh and sorry for the late reply guys, the EGR is mapped out and blanked off. Tried every combination with that - the blank in and out, unplugged and plugged in, no different.
