Default Should a 1500 mile old flywheel sound like this?

    Hey all.

I had a new flywheel fitted for me about 1500-2000 miles ago. I know it wasn't a bad fit, I stood around and watched the mechanic fit it and everything was done properly, he did a brilliant job. I am however a bit concerned about the noise coming from it after only 1500 or so miles.

Those of us with 1.9s with new flywheels, do they sound like this? Does this sound like a failing flywheel? Sounds a lot like my old one did! Surely they should be silent? It was when it was fitted! Need to turn the sound up a bit, iphone in a case mutes it quite well.

    Cheers peeps.

Got details yes and spoke to them before. Sending me a warranty form, but I need to buy a new one, then they'll take the old one back and if they think it's knackered, they'll refund me. Nope, knock it into neutral and clutch up. It's too heavy to hold down.

Was it a Sachs flywheel and a full LUK clutch kit that was replaced?

    Mark ,
I have listened to the video clip over and over several times.....
Must admit it sounds like clutch slap of some sort, not sure if its the dmf as its a slightly different rattle than mine, it sounds like something is taking up play.

I didnt hear that sound the other day, when you are back up home no. 2 give me a shout and we will have a proper close up listen.

Hope you get it sorted bud.

Mmm, it's not quite as loud as yours, but the phone doesn't quite pick it up properly. Back up north until tomorrow! I sense a fun drive back.

A 1500 mile flywheel shouldn't make any noise! Could be a bad one from manufacturing, it happens!

I can hear the noise you were describing at the weekend Mark, but only just, laptop volume is full up here but difficult to see how loud it is in relation to main engine noise etc.

If you think an extra pair of hands would be handy then just let me know fella, as of now I'm free tomorrow.

As said, hope you can get this sorted mate.
