    Default Noisy parcel shelf

Last few days my parcel shelf has been doing my head in bouncing up and down and rattling. Today i put a jumper on top of it to deaden the movement and its dead quite.

What would people suggest i do for a long term fix? What have others done if they have the same issue? Keep something on it or try and pad the areas that band together?

    Cheers

    Default

Your rattle as other threads will be hinges (wrap some tape around to tighten gap up)

but more likely it is at back end. Look on boot lid inside there are 2 rubber mounts that squash against the shelf and stop the rattle. I found i could see one side rattling in mirror and other side ok so have a look so you arnt wasting time if side isn't broken. adjusting the rubber mounts in lid a bit and might work. If not you need to raise the shelf prob half an inch to push back against the lid. ( there's a good how2 linked above on doing it properly.try a temporary fix to check it works by using a small item (say a bottle top) and use a black tape to fasten in place while you see if its that.
