    Default fuel filter

    would a collappsed fuel filter cause loss of power and then wen turned off it wont start bk up again on a 1.9cdti

    It could well do , do you not have any codes to read to confirm low fuel pressure?

    Maybe just replace the filter for the cost of the element, although the housings I hear can be tricky and often break/leak on removal.

    its vectra 1.9cdti had it in vx today filter canged but it still struggling to start feels lumpy on power and smokeing they allso said my timeing could have dropped and sumthing to do with manifold could timeing just drop while driveing and cause loss of power under foot and that really at a loose end as dont know wot to do

    Could be many things egr , low compression, faulty/worn injectors, or possibly as suggested timing.

    Firstly read any codes if available.

    Secondly I would try some injector cleaner possibly get the injectors checked for spray pattern.
