Default 1.8 2003 Vectra. Standard clutch kit or Dual Mass Flywheel?

    Hi all,

Thinking my clutch is going on my Vectra C, been told the slave bearing is most likely culprit.

Does my car have the standard solid clutch kit or a DMF?

    Any advice appreciated

    Cheers

Cheers Das, I suppose that's not a bad thing then. I've heard of nightmares with the DMF'S

Yup, although its only the smelly Derv boys that have issues with them, you read very few failures on the petrol's that have them.

So would I just need to buy a 3 piece standard clutch kit and get that replaced? Think the slave bearing has gone on mine

Just a another thought, with my slave bearing being suspect to failing, would this also cause me to have trouble selecting gears? Had problems last night where I lost all gears and couldn't change up or down?

If the clutch is not operating properly it will affect your gear changing - Can I ask why you would want to change the flywheel if it was in good order ie not worn/scored? I know a lot will say it's best to change it while the gearbox is off but if it is in good order why - especially a solid flywheel - a DMF yes

Hi, I have been advised that my concentric slave cylinder is on its way out and with the noises I'm hearing and the struggling selecting gears then I'm guessing I will need a complete 3 piece clutch kit change. I wasn't sure if I had a solid clutch set or a DMF that's all. I also wasn't sure if I have gearbox issues as well due to the that fact I'm finding it hard to get gears
