    Default Turbo units

Evening all, I went to the garage today to drop of the misses car for its service today and pay of my bill for my project yellow mr2, so as I get on so well with the owner I asked him to try and find this strange noise from the engine bay, like a deep whistle , well after a look he said one of two things, alternator or turbo but will need to test drive it, so of he went and on return said it gets louder when driving, now I been driving it like this for months but he thinks the turbo is on his last life.
My question to you experts is as I have a remap on the car is there any point of getting a better turbo unit fitted or buy a new genuine one?

If you're sure it's the turbo, a rebuilt one will be fine. Speak to @nutron on here.

Three guys on here who had a remap from the same place had their turbos running over 29psi rather than the normal 22psi which was killing the turbos and in one case, caused the intercooler to swell up and rupture. If it is still running then I can provide exchange units in either standard or uprated forms.

Try running the engine with the auxiliary belt off. I had a right bad noise which turned out to be the idler wheel on the auxiliary belt.

That's what I was going to ask as well to price, I'd love an uprated one but will I need to remap done again ?
