New starter motor fitted but now engine turns but wont fire.

I went to start my car up yesterday after having the shocks changed that afternoon and got clicking and then nothing. I managed to bump start it and it fired up. I noticed burning coming from the starter and replaced it with a recon unit. This was the same spec and went on with no problems I checked all the connections and when I reconnected the battery and the starter turned it over but it wouldn't start. I am getting 12.5 at the battery and the same down at the starter?? Has anyone got any idea what I check as I checked to ensure I haven't knocked any sensor etc off. Could it be the crank sensor?? I have no idea where this is located though.

Possible you could have disconnected crank sensor its just below the starter motor

just above the starter, lay underneath it and look upwards... you'll half to have a sharp eye, you'll see its probably floating around.

I have sorted it I managed to knock the crank sensor off and when I stuck it back on it fired up straight away. Thanks for the replies everyone.
