    Default Brake lights Flashing Constantly

Got told last night that my Brake lights are constantly flashing. I checked this evening and they flash like strobe lights ( all 3 lights ) and light up normally when the brake pedal is pressed. Had a warning light pop up as well that said Brake Lights Switch. Im assuming the pedal switch is faulty. Any1 had this issue ? ( Vec C 07 150cdti ) Cheers

Pretty certain they're only supposed to do that if you break heavily above a certain speed... such as hitting the anchors on a motorway... as an additional warning. As you suggest though I'd be looking at the switch first - given the amount of work it gets, it's a prime candidate for failure at some point... although if you're lucky it may just be dislodged of have a loose connection.

I'm sure they are only meant to flash when the ABS kicks in.

Are you sure they haven't got non-Canbus compliant bulbs in there, perhaps LED ones?

    Have you changed bulbs recently?

seen a few similar problems with incorrect bulbs

brake pedal switch could also be at fault

I was sat in the car outside and they were doin it then with engine running, did notice tho that wen the car is started the lights light up and stay on for 5 seconds then start to flash.

No bulbs Changed at all - just started happening last night.

Switch is the 1st port of call on the weekend.

if you have or have access to opcom or vauxcom/tech2 you can check the switch functionality with it in output tests
