Default QUESTION FOR MOT TESTERS: Broken headlight on Fiat Ducato

Hi,we have a fiat Ducato motorhome. Unfortunately a stone has hit the headlight and punched a hole through. Would this fail the MOT?

I'm no MOT tester, but I'm guessing it'll be a fail, as the beam pattern will be affected, and there will be a sharp edge?

I am thinking the same, a new headlight is £200 if you can get one

If it has a sharp edge yes but if you smear clear silicon over it it will pass as it wont effect the beam hardly at all.

Ring a windscreen fitter and ask if it's possible to clean and resin patch.

Ok so on close inspection there are no sharp edges. There is a piece of glass laying inside the headlight tho so it does not look like it can be resin patched

Get a bit of silicone in it and it should be fine.

as it will have minimal effect on light beam

I found some all weather clear tape and put a square over it for the time being to stop water ingress
