    Default Mates flakey paintwork

A mate of ine has got 54 plate sri and has got a problem with the paint actually flaking off.I looks like its flaking off from the primer and is steadly getting worse. If you wanted to you could actually lift it and peel it off.

It started out of nowhere nd hes worried that it will end up flaking off the whole side of his car

    Anybody seen this before?

Its shouldn't peel that well, best case it's not primed and its just the top corner, worse its the full panel and it'll spread as it weathers... Either way its a sand and a respray

yeah i thought it might need a sand and spray.

Just funny how both our cars are doing it.

Isnt the paint work covered by warranty?

Not just yours, I've got a smaller patch in exactly the same spot. I thought it was where the hatch had been badly adjusted and it had rubbed the paint off the quarter panel right on the rounded change from the horizontal to vertical. It's never got any worse so I've just left it

I've got a tiny little bit on either side of my hatch as well, it's as if someone has tried to pry the hatch open using the rear wings as a fulcrum point. Looking at that, I think I'll be getting it touched in as soon as I can! Mine is an 06 plate facelift for what it's worth.

Also, I think VX went a bit over the top with the metalflake content in Sapphire Black!!
