    Default 3.0 CDTI V6 advice...

I'm sure I've seen numerous threads on the V6 CDTI, but with this rubbish Google Search option, I cant seem to find any of them!

So, if anyone can, I'm either after buying advice for a low miles 2006/7 model 3.0 V6 or links to the previous threads, which I'm sure are out there! LOL

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello mate,

I purchased my Vectra V6 CDTi about 2 months ago now with 65,000 miles on it.

It's a fabulous car to my experience so far but there are a few reporting bad experiences ... as with any car?
They are unbelievably effortless on the motorway with me returning 51 mpg on a 84 mile run to bristol with cruise control on between 70/80 but can be rather thirsty around town.

Just check it's accident history out, service history & the all important, give it a good test drive.
Request car be heard from a cold start for this though!

The dreaded Dual Mass Flywheel can also be an issue but i checked with vauxhall about mine & it had been replaced at 46,000 miles with a new clutch!

    I hope this helps!

Had the cdti 120 and 150 and in my opinion the v6 is the one to go for, effortless power and 50 plus mpg on motorways and 35 around town,i went for a low milage pre-face just so it would,nt have the dreaded dpf fitted as on the facelift v6 model.

@John Bishop Do you not get 50mpg on the motorway? I would say that around town the mpg is rather disastrous but on the motorway, it comes into a world of it's own!

I've managed it a few times, but by cheating
Simply fill the tank to the full level, fill the boot with as much luggage as it will take, put three passengers into the car, then get the car to 58mph and reset the Average MPG, for a long trip up the A9 between Perth and Inverness; arrive in Inverness with the display showing 52MPG

It would have got more than 52mpg then with less weight to pull around - like, just you and the car.

    I was thinking exactly that!

I managed the above mpg with a full tank by myself, some A road & motorway driving!

By the time i got to my destination with 5 mile town driving, it had gone down to 47.9mpg.

You would think that, but no
If there was just me in the car, then it would be about 6mpg less
It was the same on trips on the M74

Exactly the same happens when comparing the boot empty with hardly any fuel, with a full boot (heavy) and full fuel tank

No way. Prior to dmf, csc and clutch change last year average was 34mpg. Since had it done average is 40 and best ever had was 42. Motorway cruising at 75 withh cc on.
