    Default Intake manifold repair kit

Just saw this on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-S...item1e798e1f37

For those who have or are going this problem, this looks like a fix compared to large bill.

Unfortunately, I have glued mine done already (Aargh). Maybe someone that has already used this can tell us whether it works.

You must check the swirl flaps are not seized this will not cure that problem, all flaps must move freely 'except flap '3' which is the operating flap'.
I thought the seizing of the swirls is what causes them to fail, so not sure how this can help, unless the manifold is removed and cleaned then this is fitted.

Not always no... When I changed mine on my 2005 CDTI - the swirls were VERY free, it was just the up and down movement on the swirls that had caused the ball/socket joint on the bar/swirl top to wear and therefore fall off all the time.

Of course - the bearings will still have excess play with this applied - but I guess its more secure than the plastic joints.

If they are free moving and no gunk around them this should give you a bit more life from the inlet.

I have fitted the kit 123rado mentioned, it's really easy. The hardest thing is removing the plastic clips from the bar.
Fitting only took me a couple of minutes without removing the glowplug caps. I connected and eletrical wire to the middle just to make sure the bar will stay on the "right" side.

Much more fun to glue em open. Super Glue has held mine for 10k miles and still no sign of any gunk coming out of them (which there was before gluing). Car goes like a rocket with re-map and millers double doze

I think you are right. This is £50.. Arildite is about £5...

Bond them open - and it may also bond them down and stop the up and down movement also... Got to be the best fix really thinking about it bar a new inlet.
