    Default DEAD pioneer deh- p7900ub

    Gutted head unit died blew 10 amp fuse in passenger fuse box
    replaced fuse still dead .
    Tried on battery charger for testing no joy DEAD
    anybody know if internal fuse on HU or other common fault,
    or got a cheap replacement to tide me over with aux in

    There's generally a 10amp mini blade fuse on the rear of the headunit, around the area where the power cable plugs into the unit itself.

    You could also try doing a reset (hold the tiny little reset button down for 10/15 seconds on the front panel with the ignition on)

    This picture isn't of your radio, but it'll give you an idea what to look for:

    thanks for the fast reply but there is no 10amp mini blade fuse on the rear of the headunit.
    also tried the reset button no joy.

    Sounds like it might be sitting on a cloud playing a harp then Are you getting +12v on both the red and yellow wires with the ignition on in the car? If so, it might be worth having a word with a friendly local radio repair agent.

    There's a place in Cheadle called RCA http://www.rcacheadle.com/ who can repair them, not sure if that's a bit too far to go from Bolton for you though.

    Strange tried it again tonight all working wired exactly the same as before
