Not a bad race today. Bit disappointing Hamilton's race pace couldn't match his qualify - tyres put a dampener on it again.
    Easy win for alonso overall.
Button didn't do bad to bring the mclaren home in 5th.

Rather predictable now, when everything goes as planned

The Ferrari is traditionally good on a high speed circuit (car optimised for race conditions rather than qualifying), so a podium finish was no surprise, and usually do well in the first five races of the season (as it is this year)
The dark horse is the Lotus, however if they cannot maintain the development through the season then they will fade
    The curse is Rosberg

The work at Pirelli is now starting to have benefits
The teams were at risk of having to use the soft tyre and its poor performance when compared to the hard tyre
This was quite clear during the practice sessions as the soft tyres were quite shocking, as a result the teams used these up instead of the hard tyres saving those for the race instead

However there still remain flaws in the qualifying setup, which is being exploited by some teams / drivers
Yet again it shows that you can have the fastest car in qualifying, be disqualified so have to start from the Pit Lane (effectively last) then change tyres early with effectively no penalty and when the other cars change their tyres have an advantage

Only caught the last 10 or so laps. Thought Hamilton could have got 2nd but tyres fell away and he nearly lost 3rd... By 0.2sec

The first 30 laps were more eventful
There was no chance of Hamilton getting second and did well to get third; he will also struggle at the next race, however it is all about consistency and is now starting to show the maturity that keeps him in the front running for this years title
