Like the title any carpet fitters.
I need to pull some floorboards up but the carpets are glued.
How hard is it to pull these up and what damage could i do to them and could i reglue when finished??

Are they rubber backed?
I'm not sure
Might be worth getting a all bit by door or corner that seeing if its rubber backed.
if its rubber backed then most likely pull the runner to pieces when you pull it up. Resulting in new carpet being needed.
If its not then, it'll be fine to pull up adjust glue back down again.
thats just from personal experience.
Ok cheers Critch
I'd imagine it is rubber backed, hessian doesn't need glueing,
To suggest I would minimise damage by getting a stanley blade under it to separate the glue from the floor, you will lose a bit of the backing but should retain enough to re-glue if you work slowly and carefully.
most carpets now are either hessien backed or felt backed if its glued it will be felt. i work in a carpet shop at the weekends and the only rubber carpets i sell are industrial . i dont even deal with runner backed bathroom carpets anymore . if its felt a tin of spray glue should be ok tp put back done as long its down tight as u can . failing that a fitter shouldnt charge a fortune for doing it.
