Would it not be easier just to contact them for instructions?

    Hi Duncan
Yep but dont fancy ringing this time of night . Fitting it shouldnt be a problem its just the settings/jumpers.If anyone has a diagram of the basic setting (map 1) that would be a start
    Thanks

Basically plug it on and go matey

The way to adjust a CRD2 is as follows....

The long set of jumpers is to adjust the map set either plus or minus 10%. As follows.

    |30%|20%|10%|0%|-10%|-20%|-30%|

So which ever one the jumper is on is where it is set.

The jumpers on the left hand side in a combo of 4 determine which map you are on.

    Map 1:
    0 - 0
    0 - 0

    Map 2:
    1 - 0
    1 - 0

    Map 3:
    0 - 1
    0 - 1

    Map 4
    1 - 1
    1 - 1

Where 1 is the connection covered by the jumper.

Sorry clear as mud but hopefully helps!

Not being picky Jon, but don't the jumpers just increase / decrease the voltage. Correct me if I'm wrong but there's no map stored in the box is there? It's a voltage profile isn't it?

Depends how you define a map really Alex.

For example a map out of WinOLS on an Alfa 156 2.4 JTD for instance as below that is a 'map' out of the ecu. There are 48 different maps on the car which all control different parts of the car. One for fuel, injector timing, throttle response etc. etc.

On the CRD2 as many other tuning boxes on the market the voltage profile is considered a different map as such. So profile/map I would consider the same thing really.

If you look at a 2D map off a CRD2/Spider/CRD2 it will look like a fuel map as shown below off the ECU.

All a map is, is relating a point from RPM against throttle position etc. The jumpers just add 10% or decrease 10% against the map. So say at 3000rpm at full throttle on map 1 at 10% is giving voltage 5v, if you increase it 10% it will follow the same map shape but give voltage 5.5v. If you see what I mean.

As a matter of interest what is the different bhp/torque of all 4 maps? I might be mis-reading this CDTI but by altering the voltage jumpers (eg increasing 10%) would that mean the peak torque is lower down the rev range? Or have I got it all wrong?
