Default I've got the dead bulb Blues!

I bought a set of Philips Blue Vision H7 dipped beam bulbs for £24 in Spetember and they have been great up until I got into my car this morning and was greeted by this:

Sure enough when I checked my nearside dipped beam bulb the filament has severed in two

I know ALC means my lights are on more often than people usually have them on for but do you think five months is normal for these Blue Vision bulbs??? Do you think I would have any sort of warranty?

Guess it's back to the OEM bulbs for me for now

    Cheers

    Dave

i doubt you could get them to honour any warranty dave, but it does seem a very short lifespan

dave i had the same trouble with my osram bulbs, they both lasted less than a year!

in the year and a half i have had my car i have had to change all of the front bulbs, dipped and side light - it's very annoying

and the offside side light is about to go again because it's barely on and the glass is smoked.

How much effort does it take to change these bulbs as well !!!

Hope my little side light bulbs dont follow the same fate, as I really like them

My Philips H7's lasted less than a year. I've gone back to original bulbs that came with the car and had no problems since.

I kind of thought the same but I might give Red Griffin a call on Monday anyway to see what they say ... interestingly the end of the bulb seems to have a fault ... it wasn't like this when I fitted it and I definately didn't do it installing or removing the bulb:

Did you just write it off Harry or did you try a warranty route?

Yeah serious pain ... the passenger one isn't too bad it's the drivers one that's the pain ... I might just try installing one OEM bulb and see if they look too odd ... if not I'll have one Blue Vision and one OEM I hope *touch wood* the side lights will be ok

I'm semi-tempted to try another type of aftermarket ones (I like Mark's blue effect ones very much) but will probably play it safe sticking with the OEM's

I don't think so ... I'd be on edge the whole time ... wouldn't trust them not to break something and try and cover it up!!!
