    Default Mixer Tap Question

I've got a monoblock mixer tap on the kitchen sink, with individual hot and cold quarter turn handles (rather than single handle for both) and a swivelling swan neck spout. The base of the swan neck is slowly leaking when the tap is in use, and I believe that this is probably caused by a worn o-ring at the base of the swan neck which can be replaced. My question is, do I need to turn off the hot and cold water supply under the sink and drain the tap dry before removing the swan neck, or, given that the tap handles will remain closed, can I just remove the collar at the base of the swan neck and remove the neck with the water supply untouched? Thanks.

Changed the three o-rings in the base of the swan neck, and it still leaked , probably because the originals have a square profile and I could only find circular profile replacements. So, went on the net to find a nice design of replacement, and found a fairly well known tap supplier selling them for a princely sum of exactly zero pounds . Yup, you read that right; clearly someone had mismarked them. I clicked on Buy, went to the checkout page and had two delivery options: free delivery in 3-4 days, or £6.95 for next day delivery. I thought I should pay the delivery fee in case the £0.00 invoice raised some eyebrows at the company and they refused to honour the deal, but the website wouldn't take any money, so I clicked on the free delivery option. They arrived yesterday, and they look great and a better design will mean they're easier to fit than the old ones will be to remove. The price on the website has now gone back to the normal level though, so looks like they found their mistake.

Nah, I don't want to get in trouble with them...lol. The price is back to normal now anyway.
