    Default Mot'd the Vectra today

Put the Vectra in for MOT this morning and expected the worst as since I bought it a year ago the only thing thats gone wrong was an EML came on but got a nice surprise when the garage phoned and said it didn't need anything done at all to pass and had no advisories :-)
I asked them to check the EML so it was the No1 Lambda sensor which needed changed so got that done and hopefully that's me all set for another years trouble free driving.

Spoke to soon the EML keeps coming back on so It looks like I'll be back at the garage first thing Monday to find out what I just paid for to get fixed.

Do you know what the code was?

9 times out of 10 a lambder code relates to something else like air leaks after the afm

I've no idea what the code was mate I'll have to ask the garage on Monday. Would this affect the way the car runs cause its been fine since the light came on a while ago ?

    Depends what the code is.

The ecu will compensate for an air leak etc to a certain point then flag up a problem.

If they just read the code and changed it its probably an air leak before the sensor. If they did live data on it and it wasnt switching then the sensor is the fault.

Thanks for the info , I'm pretty sure they just read the fault code and changed the sensor , when I picked it up yesterday the light was still on so I asked them about it and they said they just forgot to reset it but I drove it for about 10 mins today and it came back on again . Looks like that was a waste of £150+ to replace the sensor then.
