    Default Poor sound quality

Hi all, I've got a cd30 radio and the sound quality especially in the back is very very bad. I've done a search and this seems to be because I will have no rear tweeters and the crap cd30.

My first question is if the wiring is not there already, can I fit rear tweeters and an electric window loom to power them?
Will I need tech2 to enable this?

Also will I be able to fit a cdc40 opera or cd70 with paired screens and will it work without the use of tech2?

Nobody will have tech2 round here and the main dealers will either charge a fortune or won't be able to do it.

I would love to fit an aftermarket headunit but I really don't want to lose any functions

    Thanks

Don't understand why you think electric windows loom is required for tweeters. If you fit the Pioneer OEM replacement speakers they come with tweeters and no speaker spacing rings required.

I have an aftermarket head unit in mine to replace the CD30, no loss of functionality apart from radio / CD name display, radio name is on the replacement head unit anyway.

Can't answer about the CDC 40 or CD70 no doubt others can.

Because the additional speakers wires for the tweeters come on the electric window loom? I'm talking about the small speaker up near the handle

Oh really? what year of Vectra do you have? I have a 2008 Sri by the way

Thats good news, did you have to use tech2 for it to work?

have you got any rear speakers in the doors at all ??? i'd go to the scrap yard or ebay and get the genuine tweaters and just wire them into the existing speakers - no need for a crossover as its only a tweater. as for wiring . you only need 2 wires and that would be easy run.

i had the tape cd and radio thing when i bought my veccy, after it packed up i just got a double din stereo off ebay. but when i played all my downloaded music it sounded awfull where as in my mk3 escort i had before the vec it sounded awsome . ( everything was uprated on the escort ) it all boiled down to the fact that everything i ripped off youtube was 192kbs and cd quality is like 320kbs so no i download my music via bit torrent and make sure its 320, that way it sounds great .

Very good. Is that the cdc40 opera or just cdc40? Do you think that'll work with my 2008 Sri? I imagine mine is full canbus?

I don't either but sound clarity isn't the best and I've had Alpine headunits for the past 8 years. To be fair its grand when I'm on my own and turned up loud but when there's 4 other lads in the car it's hard to hear.
