    Vehicle : Insignia

    Trim : VX-Line

    Engine : BiTurbo

    Year : 2014

    Default 06 CDTi Faults

    All,

Had the car four months now and finally got round to booking it in for the following faults:-

    1. Sunroof: Slightly lower at passenger rear corner causing excessive wind noise at 50mph upwards.

    2. Gears/Clutch: Notchy gear change 2nd & 3rd. Clutch noise on release more noticeable when releasing in neutral.

    3. Fume smell:Entering via air vents on start up, goes away once driving. More noticeable from cold.

    4. Bumper paint: As many of you will know by now the bumper paint on the star silver facelifts is very dull. More prominent on the front. Vauxhall are sending and engineer to view the car on Monday when it's in for the above faults.

Hopefully all on the way to being resolved on Monday!!

    Paul.

Cheers, expecting the old routine though! 'No faults found' and then an arguement, Manager involved and then progress!

Thats where I am at the moment with my bumper, the VX mehanic looked at it, said it was definately a different colour, then suggested because the car had a VXR numberplate it must be an ex-hire car FFS, a vxr !! Any hoo after I explained it was an ex demo and the only other owner was a VX dealer he said as it is 2nd hand I couldn`t prove it hadn`t been pranged/repaired . Though why being 2nd hand has anything to do with it, even if I bought it brand new how could I prove this ?? Anyway I have double checked the dealer I bought it from and they have confirmed it is the original front bumper and hasn`t even had a stonechip filled . Still waiting for a response on the search that the VX mechanic is doing on the car, makes you feel like you are asking a favour, having your car all 1 colour !!!

VX again let down by selling nice cars and employing muppets ...

It will get worse, rumour has it GM like others are looking into moulding the bumpers in pre-coloured plastic so no painting required!!! God help us.

I reckon we will see a return to the 80's and have black bumpers on all colour cars!!

My 150 CDTI still has a persistent whining noise from the nearside whenever the wife/dragon in law is in the passenger seat. Warranty job? Only done 10K miles

Mine does this to , It's an easy fault to fix, normaly turning the car radio up to a the point were the speakers are distorting the sound and then back just a tiny fraction seems to stop the noise from the nearside...

Then possibly a mention of a big bum, and you've got it cracked as the silent treatment should begin thereafter....

I've noticed this recently, and thought it was just unburnt fuel from when you switched the engine off
However, I've also compared by standing outside the car and switching the engine on (from dead cold), and the smell is worse
It's almost as if one of the cylinders is burning the remains left when the engine was switched off, as it is very akin to the smell of charcoal!
