Vectra Sri CDTi 150 BHP

Hi guys just bought a vectra sri cdti 150 bhp. It has 102,000 miles on the clock new turbo full history. I just had a mechanic look at it and he pointed out that the swirl valve is missing near the manifold. Car was sluggish today morning below 2000rpm but after that the car pulls very strong. Do you vectra c owners take this swirl valve off is this normal or was the last owner stupid? is there a easy fix or do i have to replace the manifold? Any suggestions would be great!

Mines been off for at least 70k, no problems I have noticed, apart from gunky engine and possibly oily smell into cab at times. Sluggishness IMO will be something else.

Cheers will have a look at egr and see if theres any loose pipes

Egr only have one pipe connected to it... Emission inlet pipe at bottom... Blank it. Check egr is clean and functioning.

Check the unit with blue sticker held by t20/t30 bolt its next to egr in middle of engine manifold...

Check no split in boost control vacuum hoses,

Check all jubilee clips for boost, turbo hoses are secure and tight.

Remember to check air filter and fuel filter.
