1.8vvt or 2.2 direct?

easy boys, no 2.2, full flow cat back exhaust,then added a ecu map with at the moment gives an extra 16 bhp, thus giving 166 bhp. to follow a custom made manifold and down pipe with 200 cell cat , then that should give between 176-180 bhp, this has been done ,i'am just following what was done by a person not far from me, was in TOTAL VAUXHALL issue July 2012, remap is EDS. ( FIGURES GIVEN 173 BHP 151lb/ft), air box changes as well.

They're only supposed to be 140bhp standard though....

Never go with what the book says my mk3 astra sport c18xel was on a rolling road and that engine produced 131 and it was supposed to have 115 as standard

some people from the old club vs days will remember my old silver 1.8vvt wasnt slow compared to there 2.2 and 1,9cdti
was tarted up abit but not break the bank mods good wee engine
it went very well but did end up doing a gearbox in but lol

was never keen on the 2.2 was just wondering if they changed at all, just to make the 2.2 guys feel a little better about fuel Im getting 40 miles on £20 lol 4.4l v8.

Go for 1.8 great engine had a 2.2 direct and was in vauxhall more times then I had it, had two timing chains fitted on it fuel pump problems never a 2.2 again for me.
