    Default Lift-off oversteer??

I've noticed a couple of times that my car suffers from pretty bad lift-off oversteer, especially around left hand bends.

I'm hopefully going to get my head under the back end of the car on the weekend to sort the droplinks and ARB bushes (if they ever arrive!) so I'll give the rest of the suspension a wiggle while doing that, but are these cars known to be easily provoked into lift-off oversteer or is it more a symptom of shagged rear end suspension?

There's also a squeak coming from the nearside rear over bumps, so I'm assuming this will be the inner banana arm bush but to be honest, there's that many squeaks and knocks - I think I'm going to end up having to replace probably all of the rear end bushes before too long.

I don't think that the squeak will be a factor with this though, as it's the rear right tyre that loads up around right hand bends.

(It might just be the crap chinese ditchfinders that are fitted to the car though, I'm never ruling that out!)

Banana arms what... are they the cause of the lift off oversteer or the squeak from the rear? (or both?)

Fair comment! It happened today coming off a roundabout though, I was doing no more than 30mph and felt the characteristic shimmy from the back end as the rear offside wheel decided that sideways was a better direction than forwards!

It's not full on massive sideways action (it is a Vec afterall!) but its enough to feel it.

I am leaning on the cheapo ditchfinders that are fitted to it as a primary cause though. I hate driving on cheap tyres, so as soon as I decide to get the wheels refurbed I think I'll stick some branded rubber on.

Of note, it's generally left hand corners that it lets go on - right hand corners (or roundabouts), I haven't had it go once on... and, having been to have a look at the car I think I may have found why!

Front R/L - Prestivo (cheapo but ok unless you push it)
Rear Left - Kenda (cheapo but not completely terrible)
Rear Right - Infinity INF05 (oh dear... http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Infinity/INF-05.htm check out the grip characteristics of these badboys!!!)

Check the banana's for play, they usually knock rather than squeak... replace the ditch finders (tyres)

Only time I've ever had anythinbg like that was when I stupidly put my mobility scooter right on the tail, instead of up against the back seat. Tail tried to race the front end round the first roundabout.
I'd suspect the tyres - but what suspension do you have? Mine's the lowered SRi one

If the ARB bushes arrive by the weekend, I'll have a poke around all of the bushes while I'm fitting them.

It certainly doesn't feel like driving on burst shocks, it's very compliant on the road in general.

It has the sri factory lowered suspension (I believe, anyway). First steps are to poke around with a pry bar and ditch the ditchfinders I think!!
