    Default Signum boot release fix

    Hi guys

tried the search but there is alot of threads with same problem but im stuck on how to get at the motor to strip and clean it.

i press the button and it doesnt open but if i tap above the button with my palm at will work, but i have to hit it every time to make it work?

how do i get the boot card off to get at everything,

also can i get at the number plate lights that way as all the screws are shot...

Are you sure its the motor,on my old signum all the problem was,was the plate that you pull to open the boot covered by a rubber skin had bent over time so when you pull it,its not pushing the pin in to release the tailgate
The cover is held in with i think two screws either side plus one hidden inside the interior handle, then you have to prise it away from the plastic lugs(similar to presstuds)

try cleaning the switch first, it gets clogged with road grime and sticks. The need to remove the card was a little intimidating to me after experience with my old Skoda, but it took me less than half an hour start to finish. Theres a how to with pictures around somewhere.

if I recall correctly, they're actually clippy things rather than screw covers (I thought the same thing). If you put a small screwdriver in the little slot on the side they lever out quite easily.
