    Default Chrome V

Starting to sand my chrome v grille ready to spray paint it colour coded. How much do I need to sand off and best way to paint it? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks Clemmo.

Personally I would just make sure you sand it enough to give the primer a good key to stick to.
Make sure where you are spraying is warm and away you go

Rough it up, plastic prime, grey prime, paint and lacquer. Heat the grill and rattle tins a bit.

Oh and a quick rub between colours with wet and dry. Some good YouTube videos on it.

I primed it. Rubbed down. Then done 2 coats of colour. Do I need to rub down before clear coat?

I would. Make it easier rubbed down when finished. Not much though or the lacquer won't stick! Put plenty on. It will get attacked by stones. I have 2 of each primer and 4 colour and clear on mine. Still has a chip or 2!

Have you taken it off, or leaving it on the car whilst painting?

How long do I leave it before rubbing down and polishing. I have put clear coat on now.
