    Default 1.9CDTi Z19DT injector removal

Hi guys. I am in the middle of taking off the injector 1 (extreme left) of a Z19DT 120bhp engine. The 14mm nut holding the fuel line has already been taken off, the 10mm hex nut holding down the injector securing assy, the cup washer and other nuts have been taken off as well.

The problem now is that the injector is moving right and left freely (even by hand) but it is refusing to come out even though the assy is moving up and down. Is there something else holding it down that I have missed or is it just stuck?

Have tried levering with screwdrivers, loads of WD40 but no joy. Can anyone suggest a way out please? Thanks

i Know this sounds daft but i read on a forum, not sure if it was this one or not but apprently BMW technicians pour coke'a'cola around the injectors and leave it
over night and it dissolves any corosion around the injectors so that they can then be pulled out. wether this is true or not im not sure but mite be worth a go

    Hi

Ignore the coke trick as it contains very small amounts of a chemical used for cleaning metal.

There were various bulletins from Mercedes regarding this but its a myth compared to using proper chemicals,
dont use Mr muscle oven cleaner either on the Aluminum head as others have found out its not good for the ally.

Use a 40/60 mix of carb cleaner and diesel instead and let it soak around the injector base,
on Mercedes CDI engines this can take a week to soak through, on the Fiat group engines usually a day or two.

As above, mine had leaked up the side and over the clamp and was solid... Lots of carb cleaner, twisting, pulling and swearing and I got it out... Once it started moving left and right I GENTLY teased it out witch a crow bar in the end! Took a good hour

Seen this done with a slide hammer to knock it out. Comes out very easy. Not tried that personally as the ones I have done I soaked and left overnight etc.

I have been able to remove the injector after soaking for about 24hrs in a mixture of diesel and carb cleaner but when I removed it, there was no copper washer on the injector as it had fallen into the injector hole.

Can anyone advise what way the copper washer seats on the injector please? Flat side on face of injector or the not so flat side?

Also, I took the washer and cup shaped washer in the pix off the injector assy on Saturday and not sure whether it is the cup shaped washer, followed by the washer, then the 10mm nut when assembling. Thanks guys.

That was fast buddy. Thanks. I got the copper washer bit but for the injector assy, did you mean the cup shaped washer first, followed by the flat one and then the 10mm nut or the other way?

Sorry just re read, its the copper washer down the hole, one side has slightly rounder edge, that goes round face up... Then the 45' tapered silver one slots in the top of the clamp, then the silver washer and nut...

Thanks. Will assemble it tomorrow. Loads of stuck crud down the hole which needs cleaning with patience.
