Default How can i tell of my turbo is the right one?

My 2.2 dti doesn't seem very nippy at all compaired to my mondeo tdci 115.

Is there any way to tell if my turbo is the correct one for the car, ie not a 2.0 dti one.

I can get the part number off epc but is there any way of cross compairing it to the one on my car?

No I'm just curious as it may have been changed at some point in its life before I got it.

Mmm, as far as i know, all turbos have plug sockets fitted, for example, 1.9 150 and 1.9 120 have different plug shape, wife's dad had both 120 and 150 turbo, i brought down the 120, and didnt fit, the vane was slightly very slightly different but does fit but... Wont be able to use turbo as plug is different.

I think all cars be like that...

Did u have the car serviced? Oil filter, fuel filter, new oil, checked all sensors are clean and working? Might be something that causing lack of power...

Looking at the how 2 on how to check the turbo on the 2.0 dti, the exhaust down pipe arrangement looks different to my 2.2 dti set up, so unless they had changed the down pipe also i dont "think" there interchangeable ?. perhaps the inlet manifold needs to come off for a decoke session, there's a how 2 in there for that. I am planning to do that to mine shortly to help her breathe properly.

My first vectra c was a red 2.2dti saloon with last 3 letters of number plate being GPO. Sold it cause my mates kept calling me postman pat! Lol anyway when i first got it i thought its not greatly fast but it was not to bad! I was getting excellent mpg and i rarely had to put foot down as i was mostly motorway driving! But for piece of mind i got it serviced and what a differance in power. They reckoned my filters hadnt been done in atleast 60k and they also advised doing regular fuel filter change as for some reason they were bad for choking up with some horrid black gunk! He showed me the filter and it looked more like an oil filter than a diesel filter! It was causing y car to starve of fuel! On the plus side i had amazing fuel economy before i serviced it lol. I would give it a service see if that helps, get some redex diesel treatment and give car a wee blast to clean turbo out as most diesels with turbos that dont really get used soot up and choke up, normal sign is a big puff of black smoke the first couple of times then should clear.

Yeah I'm gunna give it a service next week when my kids go back home, I've also got new rocker cover gasket, injector seals, aux belt and tensioner as well as the usual filters and castrol gtx magnatec to go in.!

I'll clean the inlet and egr valve when I have it stripped to do the injector seals.

Think ill pop to the scrappy for a look a 2.0 dti turbo to see if there's any noticeable difference
