    Default static shock ?

    aarrgghhh im going mad ive had the vec for 6 years now and this last 3 days everytime i touch its like touching an electric fence odd thing is its never done it before any ideas

    It's your body that pick up the static through rubbing contact between your cloths and seats or any other movement that build up a charge on your body which then discharges when you touch the car.
    your car also create charge with respect to "ground", but will normally discharge quickly through the tyres which are electrically conductive.
    Try and keep hold of the metal of the door as you get out which will help static discharge gradually.

    I always get this on holiday when i wear flip flops

    You create static on your body at home as well, so try and touch the door first with your elbow or fist which are less sensitive than fingers, and like I said when you get out with door open grab the roof with right hand and keep it there before getting your feet on the ground to lessen the shock. or you can install an anti static belt or chain attached to the car frame and touching the ground.
