    Default Insurance Prices

I had an accident in my 2.0DTI.

Got to most likely get a new car and lost my no claims and got an accident on my record.

Prices of course have gone up for me, but I've looked around and to be honest, I can live with the extra costs, its only a couple hundred a year more than I am already paying.

But I want another Vectra DTI, so I checked for 2.0DTI and got a price, I then thought about trying to get the 2.2DTI instead, but the price comes back the same as the 2.0DTI

I dont get it, I did a test and changed it for a 1.0 ford fiesta and the prices all dropped down.

My question is, why is the same price being given for the 2.0 and the 2.2DTI, I thought the 2.2 would cost more?

As above it's a mystery, it costs me more to insure a 1.0l corsa than it does to insure a 1.2l corsa... eh???

I reckon I'll try and go for the 2.2 rather than the 2.0 this time.

Shame, my other car, I love it.

Thats why I am getting another Vectra Diesel, but a bit bigger engine will be nice, aint that much diffrence, but still.

Its all to do with statistics. More people around your age living in your area, with similar criteria (marrage, job etc) make claims on 2ltrs the 2.2's.

True and which model is more likely to be attractive to car thieves.
