Default Vectra heater blower motor problem...ongoing!

    Hi all,

My 2004 Vectra Club CDTi is displaying all the typical signs of a knackered heater blower motor resistor, ie. the fan only works on position 4. I bought a new genuine GM resistor, fitted it, but the problem persists - only blows on position 4.

I've noticed the fan does work in the other positions very intermittently, sometimes if I brake hard it will get it working.

    Any ideas or suggestions guys?

    Thanks in advance

    Does the motor spin freely?

    All connections secure?

Motor spins freely for sure....don't know about connections. Which ones should I be checking and where are they please?

    Default

1)Try pulling out the resistor pack and putting the fan on 4, confirm the fan runs.
    2) get a multimeter on the resistor pack and see if you get any voltage on any of the terminals from an earth in the car
    3) this will confirm if the resistors are actually getting any power.

ps, be careful as the resistors may get hot it they are working.

    Hi all,
There's a bit different blower motor problem. For a few weeks, my 2003 year SRI's blower doesn't stop, not even when I pull out the key from the igniton barrel. :S The fan works fine on any position, but only helps, if I remove the fuse. Any idea? The resistor replacement didn't take any effect, the symptom constant. Every helps appriciated!
