CD70 Aerial

Hi,

I have now decided to swap my CDC40 GID and DAB for the CD70 and CID that I have, I have now purchased an satnav small black square aerial from eBay, the problem I have is I can't find anywhere to mount it as I have a centre speaker fitted. I have the vaux sat nav aerial, but that looks quite a big job to fit.

can anyone please help ?

It has taken me three weeks to come to this decision, weighing up DAB over Sat Nav. I just hope I am making the right decision.

mount it behing the air vents on the metal bracket

Ive put mine at the center at the windscreen. And hidden the wire along the windscreen, until i could get it into the dash. Been there for like 3 years now.

Is this behind the centre vents ?, and will it get signal from there ?

Your location should give the antenna as clear a 'view' straight up and skywards as you can give it, with as few dense obstructions as possible and ideally without too much electrical beside it.

You may find with the vents removed you can adhere the antenna to the underside of the dashboard's upper surface - the plastic shouldn't obscure the signal to any huge degree. All kind depends on length of available cable as to where you can locate it.

Thanx, at the moment to test it i have wedged it, in between the dash and the black vent tube, and it worked, just need to secure it properly soon. i am just hoping i made the right decision getting rid of the CD40+DAB for the CD70 Sat Nav combi.

running the proper wiring takes about 20 mins i did this in my vec as its only had the cd30 in it when i got it
