    Default Vectra 1.9cdti 150 2004 cutting out!!!

    Please please help!!!

I have Vectra 1.9 cdti 150 2004 and its beginning drive me insane.

Started with lumpy tick over and lack of power. I started by putting forte diesel cleaner in which seemed to help at the beginning ( 2weeks ok ish). I then discovered a chuffing injector that was fixed, that seemed to resolve the power issues. After 2 weeks it has now stared to cut out when slowing down at junctions or changing down a gear..no warning just cuts. It starts pretty much straight away after. Another thing I have noticed is that I seem to get cutting out problems after fuelling the the ****** thing if I allow the fuel gauge to give me the low fuel light warning. I changed the fuel filter yesterday, and still the thing is cutting out on me. Seems to be getting more frequent (3 times today on a 20 mile trip).

I don't get any warning lights on a dash at anytime.

Anyone got any idea what I should be looking for as regards these issues? It's driving me mad and I have no confidence in the car now.

Oh I should say that the lack of power seems to be creeping back as well.

You're car is a 2004 so I'm going to say throttle body problem. The solder joints crack and cause the throttle body to think that you have switched the ignition off. This shuts the plate over stalling the engine.

Here is a how 2 on the issue: http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...45#post1338145

If it's not this then I would say the injector wiring is a problem if your plugs are yellow and not blue.

My old one was doing the same - 54 plate - and the throttle bodty was the problem. It used to do it whenever it wanted.

Would that explain the lack of power issues?

Possibly the plate is closing slightly reducing the air flow into the engine. The diesels don't have a throttle plate but they have a shut off plate - hence the reason the cracked solder joints cause it to close. I think mine used to have the power issue to - it would develope some weird flat spots then be ok or sometimes cut out just after. Either way m8 I'd get to the bottom of that cutting out thing first as that is very dangerous.

    will look into it tomorrow.
