I must be the only Vec C owner who actually likes the orange illumination!

Oh, also, for what it's worth (looking at Marc's picture above) - the LED in the auto dim mirror looks to be massively easy to change, but it's a big old unit though! Easiest way to get into it is to start prying with something thin at the top of the mirror where the ball and socket joint is, then slide outwards towards the corners. I used a Bojo tool to do this but anything should work as long as it's not flexible. There'll be a few loud pops when the clips start disengaging but carry on regardless. You'll not be able to go all the way round on the first try, so just do one side of the ball and socket, carrying on round the corner of the mirror, then the other side of the ball and socket, carrying on round the corner of the mirror.

Once both sides are unclipped, slide the tool along the bottom of the mirror. This will eventually lead to the front surround popping off. Once that has been done, the glass will be loose, but it has two finger connectors clipped to it. These just pop off, but be gentle - you don't want to knack them. Just gently flick them free of the glass.

Once they're off, the glass will lift out (now's the best time to give it the cleaning of a lifetime!) and you'll have the circuit board in front of you.

The LED board is secured by a little clip, unclip that and it lifts out (with the main PCB). I can't remember 100% but I think it has a pin-header on the main circuit board that you can disconnect. It lifts out with the rear facing light sensor and the LED as a unit.

From there on, unsolder, resolder, clip back together, test... the general stuff! The finger connectors on the mirror edges will clip back on, but make sure that all the finger connectors are pushed home securely to the glass, and the main connections (with the red and black wires) are also securely pushed on. If these aren't, the mirror won't work. After that, clip the housing back together and whack it back in the car. Done!

I really should have taken some photos of mine when I had it in bits to fix it, but I was too busy fixing and not busy thinking!!

Hope this helps someone anyway, they're definitely not a sealed unit (as I had a horrible feeling it would be!)
