    Default Should there be a bolt in here?

    Vectra making a noise occasionally, over bumps. Checked out noise coming from NSF, also have an oil leak.

    Removed front wheel and found this shining thread, with no bolt in it. I thought it was just the thread from the short bolt, but it does not seem to contect to anything and does not have a hole at the back.

    I am hoping someone can tell me what this is for.

    looks like a mount of some kind , i may be wrong but oooooooofffffffffffffffffftttttttttttttt.

    looks to me that if you follow that drag mark above it you,ll find out where it belongs

    I can't see the other hole the bolt would go into, in the picture. Looks like it dropped 2 inches, at least.
    Would the gearbox still work ok, that much out of alignment?

    if it has dropped that far it won't be doing the driveshafts any favours .

    Been too busy to get car to garage, going in on Monday, any other suggestions? Car running well otherwise now.

    Try jacking the part that has dropped down, gently, until the holes align and then put a replacement bolt in
