Water in the footwells

I have kinda asked this before but am more stumped than ever now.
I have just removed the passenger side bottom door trim - inside the car not on the door - and the glove box. The carpet is soaking wet through!

must be a couple of litres in there all soaked up in the car. The problem is I have no idea where its comming in from...... The door seals are ok and its not dripping onto the carpet and soaking through so it has to be comming in from somewhere else. I haven't had any work done that could have started this off so I guess it was doing it when I bought it and I never noticed.
Is there anyway it could be coming in under neath from some where? I have checked the plastic bungs under the carpet and they seem fine. When water is poured over the windscreen it runs all over the floor with no problem, but it does seem to run along the chassis rails underneath, is that right?

Has anyone had this before as the car will start to smell soon and I am nearing the end of my patience with it

I cant see it coming in from underneath myself.
Personally I think I would try a full water test, take as much trim off as you can in the area you think it is coming from, i.e. pop the glove box out, take the door trim right off, then sit in the car while someone else runs a hose all over the outside of the car, hopefully you will see something dripping or running, you'll be surprised where water can get into, probably in the least expected place !

Thats very true, its just very difficult too see anything under there, its all covered with a rubber backed soundproofing foam - thats also soaked - preventing seeing the bulkhead in any real detail...... I will give it a try though, just fed up with it now....

I bet you are m8, you'll probably see more, or easier, if you wind the seats right down and kind of lay down in the car and get yer head right in there, and take a torch with you, hopefully you will spot it.

Thats not easy when your 6'5"! At this stage i'll try anything! I don't think it will be long before I start seeing mushrooms in there!

i had the same problem, it was comin in through the pollen filter. the drainage thing under the window screen got blocked with leaves etc and the water filled up untill it could run in through the filter.

to the right of the engine at the back there should be a rubber tube about 2 inches hanging down (thats the drainage thing), if u stick something up that u should be able to feel if its blocked and unblock it.

I have a water leak pretty much like aforementioned , things it's not drain under pollen filter door seal aerial seal removed glove box moved carpet looked underneath with torch no sign of water garage poured waterek on it for 2hrs still couldn't see water coming thinks it's behind dashoard and taking it out big job I'm desperate now any suggestions

If you don't mind going a little extreme, strip the interior so the carpet and linings are out of the car (you will need them out to get them dry anyway, you can put the seats back in then, so it's usable) and then line around the footwells etc with a strip of something like paper or material, get the car wet and see at what point said strips get wet too, then hunt above where it has happened.
