Seriously thinking of doing this next time I need an oil change as I find the housings seem to torque themselves up over time even if you put them on with the right torque and they are an absolute ballache to get off.

One question - does the connector need tightening itself or is it just fixed in place by the spin-on filter?

The connector is used with permanent threadlock on the engine block side and needs tightening as far as it will go into the engine block.

    Back in a V6 !!!!!!!!!!!! And lovin it !!!

How much has it turned already ?? as any more than a few mm will snap the locating lugs from the back into the block.

I have modified mine with a threaded union from VX for a X25XE engine you remove the entire alloy housing then replace with the union then you can use spin on filters !!!!
Mines been turned quite a bit I think the lugs on the back must be broken

Don't shoot the messenger if wrong, but from 5 minutes of reading it seems the part got superceded by 90144360.

Quick search on that shows in stock everywhere, even eBay.

    I'd double check yourself though.
