    Default Just been and took some pics of top mounts

    Well i thought i'd pop out and have a look at the top mounts and try turning the steering wheel and looking to see what they were doin and see if they made a noise, the actual bearin makes no noise but i must admit the drivers side looks a tad lower than the passenger side and the drivers side top mount looks like its closer to the rim than the passenger side does look at these pics see what you think i must admit it is a metal knocking sound now im leaning towards bust spring

    Metal knocking noise could be the strut top mount .
    mine was split off a pot hole .
    try getting someone to press down on car an see if you can hear knocking.
    if its making noise when turning wheel it could be spring broke( common for top or bottom to snap off)

    Are those centre bolts done up right they look a bit too close to the end of the threads ?

    Are they not meant to be dead center they dont look like they are in them pics.

    Well since this picture was taken I have since done up the bolts upon closer inspection the pot hole I hit last year bent my top mount I have a new one waiting to be fitted
