    Vehicle : 1.9 cdti 120

    Trim : mix& match

    Engine : Turbo Diesel

    Mileage : 91000

    Default starting issues

    Car is a December 2006 c with the 1.9 (120) 8v engine

upon starting, wether hot or cold the engine seems to either

*crank quickly and fire up without a problem (not often)

*crank slowly and take and age to fire up (most of the time)

*when driving in a morning and after work i find the blowers get faster the more RPM's the engine outputs then this stops after 3-5 mins or so

the only way i can get it to start without taking a good few cranks is to turn the key and momentarily press the clutch down and it fires, starting with the clutch down from the off has no effect

help, the car still has warranty until july, i will send it in for the work to be done but i would like a general idea of what is to be looked at as i don't trust dealers at all to get it right the first time, i work odd shifts driving buses so i need the car in and out within a day or two

    thanks
    kyle

anybody give me an idea with this?

to add i have noticed when braking, even out of gear to a stop the engine seems to run slightly rough, then settles once stopped, again all other aspects of driving the car is superb, no power loss, i think my thermostat is trashed as the temp gauge rarley moves off the stop unless stuck in traffic, so ill be changing that

Disconnect coolant temperature sensor and see if it starts any better then put it back on when started

Have the Battery Starter motor and charging circuit checked by auto-electrical shop.

Sounds like a bad starter motor to me
