Default 1.9 cdti 150 auto what ATF

    hi guys,

been around for a while now, but purchased my fisrt vec c a few weeks ago.

i am a little concerned as some of the time it appears that my gears are slipping, after doing a bit of research i think the first port of call will be to do an ATF change, i just cant seem to find what ATF to use.

although th car was owned by vx and has full service i am not too sure if they have ever changed the ATF as it does ot show in the service book. the car has covered 130k

    any help would be apprieceated.

the thing is, with the searching i have done, apparantly the box is 'sealed for life' and does not need to have the ATF changed, the car does not have a filling tube or dipstick.

i think i may be clutching a straws a little and im just hoping its not the block valve that going instead.

but for the cost of a few bottles of fluid its got to be worht a try.

the **** pan also looks very oily so once i have that off it may be that there is a slight leak, but the symptoms i am getting is like the level being low in other autos i had in the past.

    you never know.

just need to know which fluid to use as it can make a big difference apparantly.

trust me if it hasn't been changed for 130k it would have degraded and be very black.

i hope this is all it is, i cant afford to have the gearbox repalced at thge moment, so i am hoping this is the fault.

is there a way of checking the level of fluid in the box?

thanks for the link @stret, i will use this

just need to work out what fluid to use, VX are shut so am going to have to use euro car parts for the fluid. they list dexron 2, dexron 3 and atf plus all being suitable for this gearbox.
