Your probably best just trying to loose weight with cardio work, Protein shakes can be a waste of money if you haven't sorted your diet out
p.s I'm 23 and just under 15 stone, I'd love to loose a bit of weight but love beer way too much
Due to the nature of my job - desk based or driving so very stagnant, I was advised that I should take protine shakes at lunch time to help reduce weight. This was more like a meal replacement type of thing. I must admit, I lost weight rapidly and managed to keep it off for quite some time, but I missed my food.
Marc, you need beer, cheesecake, a few MacDonalds, and a Good Woman
Cheers lads I usually do at the gym a hour on the bike doing over 400 cals and then do some upper body weights not free weights
Lol don't tempt me Mmmm mcds Mmmm where are my keys lol oj. Also already got the woman lol.
Ive used Promax Diet before which is good for building lean mass whilst cutting fat but it is expensive. I think eating clean and having decent training routine works just as well tho. Shakes are good for when you cant get enough protein in your normal diet or if you are busy etc. There is are a million different products out there tho and it may take a bit of trial and error till you find something that works for you
Your just adding extra calories with a protein supplement, and the cheap ones are full of sugars etc anyway so will make your diet worse... stop beers, bread for few months and weight will start to drop off just by going to the gym...
like I say to all my mates, get a few proper training sessions with a fully trained PT not just a mate and you will notice a huge difference in your workout. Luckily for me my best friend is a PT and when I work out with him I lift almost twice as much. Asfor protein shakes if your working out you need more protein to repair the muscles your tearing, the best stuff I've used is PHD diet whey it's low in fat so will be perfect for you. Hope that helps.
You can't lose fat and gain muscle at the same time, it is biologically impossible.
To lose weight you need to be at a calorie deficit. To gain muscle you need to be at a calorie surplus. You can't do both at the same time, just concentrate on one or the other.
Protein shakes are great for helping with muscle hypertrophy, for muscles to grow you need protein and carbs within half an hour after working out and a protein shake it the best way to do that.
Get your diet under control first is the answer. I used www.myfitnesspal.com to keep an eye on my calorie intake, lost a stone in a month, and it wasnt as hard going as you would expect.
