    Default Leak off pipes on 2.0dti

    Hi, my car is giving me trouble with starting so i read a few threads and i know its either the pipes or the seals..

    Now im going to do the pipes first and therefore would apreciate a DIY on how to replace them on the 2.0DTI?
    and maybe a few words of advice

    what is the actual starting problem ? is the glow plug warning light coming on & staying on for a few seconds when cold ?

    No its that the car needs to turn over like 5-6 times, sometimes even more! Nothing to do if the car is warm or cold, but if it was on a while earlier it will start straight away. Then another time it wont and it just depends on its mood really. Also once it starts a puff of white smoke comes out and thats it, not to mention i seem to have a problem with the starter or the flywheel because i get a whining sound 2/3 times starting it.

    mine was doing similar so I changed spill pipes & still no better , tried unplugging the coolant temperature sensor before starting , glowplug light was on for a few seconds & it fired up perfect , did a bit of research & found out that there was a field remedy for glow control & cold start injection timing .
    had this done & it made a major improvement on starting hot or cold .

    if the egr valve is sticking it will also give starting problems
    DTi Elite what do you ask the dealer to do and how much does it cost

    Well i definitely have a faulty egr that need a good old clean. Hopefully that could solve a problem or two
