Default basic double din help and advice

Right guys, i am a complete ice novice. I need to replace my cd30 headunit with something cheap but that has bluetooth and ipod connection. Seen the following on Amazon, its a Eonon D2208Z. I know its not the best but im on a tight budget.

My current setup is a cd30 with the large black/orange screen and the steering wheel has scroll wheels for volume and trip computer.

So, exactly what would I need to buy/add to enable me to fit this new double din unit and retain steering wheel function and the trip computer function..

Link to double din unit im looking at

Please be gentle with me guys. Lol

I appreciate what youre saying Marc, but the problem is my cd30 isnt working and im also saving every spare pound to pay for my wedding in August. So this was to be a birthday pressie from my missus and kids.

Im not an ice connoisseur so im not worried if its not the greatest sound etc, just as long as it works.

In all honesty, you're looking at close to £90 worth of adaptors to fit any double-din radio in with everything working. I reckon with a bit of careful ebaying, you might be able to get the bits on a massive budget run down to the 65-70 mark, but you'll have to be really lucky to do that.

If you're budgeting about £150-£160 for the radio, you could do a lot worse than buying one of these: (all have switchable amber illumination or multi-colour illumination so will match the standard dash colours as near as possible)

    http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alp-...de-w235bt.html Alpine CDE-W235BT £155
    http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/pio-...fh-x700bt.html Pioneer FHX700BT £125
    http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/ken-...-dpx405bt.html Kenwood DPX-405BT - £160

After that you start going into the £200+ range, where you will start getting multimedia AV systems (DVD players and proper screens) but it is all down to budget really. The ones above will do iPod and Bluetooth no hassle at all, and sound way WAY better than that Eonon thing you're looking at!!

Yes, you'll need a fascia adaptor, steering wheel control adaptor and patch, and an aerial adaptor.

Generally around £30-40 for the fascia, £35-40 for the harness and around a fiver for the aerial adaptor. You'd need that lot irrespective of what radio you went for, even the Eonon one. It's a cost that catches a few people out, especially as double DIN headunits are coming down in price massively now.

ETA: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-c...item1e78d69f83 that is on ebay at the minute for a tenner, I doubt the 'charcoal' dash bit though, it looks more silver to me but if you're happy to either spray it or live with an iffy colour match, it might be an idea. It is an auction though, so would probably go higher. I'd not give more than £20 for it myself, personally.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-V...item3ef4f9f8ce that one is at £34 with free delivery which is a fair price for it.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-T...item519c7e1292 that's the steering wheel control you'll need for the pioneer, it's £33 with free delivery

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CT27AA14-C...item2312d592f6 that's the aerial adaptor (ignore the fact it says Corsa, it's universal) for £5.54 delivered.

That's kinda the cheapest you're going to get the parts unless someone is selling them off second hand, and even then you're still looking at £70-ish before buying the radio.

(Mods, apologies if the ebay links aren't allowed, and need to be deleted.)
