    Default gluing side mirror

    hi all !
    gluing glass to the heated backing plate -
    any glue/silicone recommended ?

    I used superglue on mine and it was still firmly attached almost 2 years later

    Superglue isn't recommended as it's non flexible and could lead to the glass cracking with temperature changes.

    You need something like evo-stick impact adhesive or a silicone sealant type adhesive.

    As I said it's been holding mine on for the past 2 years and its been fine.

    Go to Screwfix and get a tube of this http://www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsens...ck-310ml/81712 -done several and not had a problem. The black is useful for other jobs around the car.

    mines been done for over two years and with the temperature hitting -10c up here regularly in that time, I'm sure the glass would have cracked by now.

    I didn't say superglue WOULD crack the glass with temperature changes, I said it COULD.

    Main reason is that its not particularly flexible.

    I used clear bathroom silicon, been on a yr or so now.
