traction controll

i have a 05 elite 3.0 cdti , the abs light and traction warning triangle has come on the instrument cluster , i just bought the car with the warning light already on , any ideas ??? also i have no button to turn on or off this traction controll on the dash board should i have on as ive seen cars with the button on dash ??????

Ideally you need the fault code(s) reading out, but as both the ABS and TC light is on, it pretty much sounds like a wheel sensor is at fault. Having the codes read out should identify which one(s)

You can fit a button yourself into the blank where it would normally go. It's hit or miss whether it'll work though. Depends if it's wired up behind the panel.

If you just bought the car, take it back to where you got it from. Selling a car with a fault light lit is highly dodgy, and the responsibility of the seller to fix.
